Leaving Trump’s America

A raw, thought-provoking, first-person account of a working-class military veteran who left his native United States when Donald Trump rose to power. “I am the person. I did it. A lot of people declared they would leave America if Donald Trump were elected president. This is my story of leaving Trump’s America and starting a new life in Canada”. Paperback and Kindle E-Book versions available

Robert McClellan is an acclaimed writer, editor, and media expert. He combines a lifetime of creative dexterity with a resourceful, contemporary skill set.

An early Internet enthusiast, Robert has a number of professional podcasts and blogs to his credit. He created and hosts the popular “Real Sobriety Podcast” and is Producer/Co-Host of the “Into the Planet Podcast with Jill Heinerth.” He wrote, produced, and appears in the award-winning documentary films “Real Sobriety,” and “Ben’s Vortex.” He is the co-creator of the environmental call to action, “We Are Water Project.” His first book, “Boom Baby Boom” is available on Amazon. Robert’s latest project is “Leaving Trump’s America”, a book, podcast, and video series about moving to Canada in the wake of Donald Trump’s authoritarian rise to power.

Robert’s views of the world demand that we give each other room to live free, yet take care of others who need help. His unique social perspective was formed on the working-class streets of Philadelphia, where sometimes, the most effective charitable act included an educational punch in the nose.

An unapologetic novelty-seeker, Robert has had more than a handful of interesting livelihoods; Navy combat photographer, Army field medic, live concert production manager, radio talk show host, truck driver, and prison nurse, writer, filmmaker, and podcaster.

Avid cyclists, Robert and his wife, the acclaimed underwater explorer, author, and filmmaker Jill Heinerth, rode over 7000 km across Canada to search for their perfect home. In 2018, they moved to Jill’s birth country of Canada, taking up residence in a quiet bicycle-friendly community. As Creative Director of Heinerth Productions, Inc., Robert explores his boundaries every day. Whether it is a new documentary film idea or a book project, he embraces the opportunity to create something that he can be proud of, that will resonate with people around the world.

From the darkness of alcoholism and addiction to the light of recovery, remarkable people share their stories of recovery and hope.

A brutally honest group of remarkable people share their intimate journey from the darkness of drug and alcohol addiction to the light of successful sobriety. From a Harley riding, sober, motorcycle club to world-renowned, recovering psychotherapists, each personal story is intriguing and inspirational. This colorful collection of speakers features a chopper riding prison chaplain who shares his message of hope with death row inmates, a former heroin addicted ballerina who now works as a recovery coach in a sober coffee house, a rational skeptic whose scientific approach to sobriety is being embraced by more people each day, and others who openly share their experience, strength and hope.

Real Sobriety is for that alcoholic or addict who is white knuckling it, rocking in their seat, and sweating through thier bed sheets with the anxiety of a new day in recovery. It features real people sharing remarkable stories of what it used to be like when they were out there, and what life is like today, clean, sober, productive and happy. This film is being used by individuals, groups and treatment centers all over the world.

I’m so proud to announce that my husband Robert McClellan has released his first book. It has been a real journey of discovery for him. I recall the day almost eight years ago, when he expressed the desire to share his story. The revelations he shares in Boom Baby Boom represent a lifetime of challenge, discovery and hard knocks. We’ve been married for seven years and he has been an incredible asset to Heinerth Productions as a writer, producer and talented audio engineer. We’re both explorers in life, but his unique social perspective was formed on the working class streets of Philadelphia,…

The Colonel

His long, angular brown face is crowned with a neatly groomed shock of closely cropped white hair. Pinned to the collar of his yellow windbreaker is the eagle device of a full-bird Army colonel. Over his heart is an american flag pin and a miniature silver star medal. The sofa on which he sits is too low for his height, and his lanky legs with bent knees are splayed outward in front of him. Cream colored argyle socks complement his spit shined soft brown oxfords. In the lobby of the Lake City V.A. Medical Center, sits a huge flat-screened television….

Bullshit and Lies

“Robert, are you an alcoholic?” Dick asks. His eyes are clear and icy blue. He looks directly at me and I feel powerful pure energy shooting right to the darkest places in my heart. The honesty of his question catches me off guard. I am accustomed to people beating around the bush about such things. I sit and wonder what is his ulterior motive. I don’t like Dick. The second counselor, Charlie, picks up the thread of the query, “Do you consider yourself an alcoholic, Robert?” There is something disconcerting about being in my full dress Navy uniform with all the…
