I have an insignificant connection to him. I met him last May. My kids were finally old enough to leave them and the stars aligned and I was able to start cave training. I trained with Natalie Gibb but I stayed at his place for 10 soul rejuvenating days. He struck me as someone I had to know. We chatted about our pasts in Vancouver music industry in the 90’s, he filled my imagination with tales of exploration. I came home from Tulum feeling better than I had in years. I was home 12 hours before I told my husband I am going back next year, and every year for the rest of my life. It saddens me to all of your loss. Selfishly I’m sad I don’t get to stay with him in 5 months. It was truly amazing. I was looking forward to another conversation and getting to know him.
