This page journals the results from the National Geographic Society/Waitt Grants Program Grant number: 2831-3 “Prehistoric extinct mammal and human remains from a subaquatic cave in Cuba: a pilot project linking archaeology, paleontology, and the ancient environment” National Geographic Society Special Projects Grant #SP 04-15 “Enhancing Exploration and Imagery of Cuba’s Flooded Cave Systems”

National Geographic Innovation Fellow Corey Jaskolski provided support for 3D photogrammetry shot in the field by Jill Heinerth. This early test demonstrates the potential for being able to image artifacts in situ, underwater without disturbance. This technique will be used for documenting human remains on future expeditions.
